Office Gems is facilitating the recruitment of an AUTO ELECTRICIAN for one of our clients based in Central Trinidad.

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Electrician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical systems in a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and heavy equipment.

This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose Electrical Issues: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify electrical problems in vehicles, including faulty wiring, malfunctioning components, and electrical failures.
2. Repair and Replace Components: Repair or replace faulty wiring, alternators, starters, batteries, and other electrical components to ensure vehicles operate efficiently and safely.
3. Install Electrical Systems: Install new electrical systems and components in vehicles, such as lighting systems, alarm systems, GPS units, and other electronic accessories.
4. Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on vehicle electrical systems to prevent issues and ensure optimal performance.
5. Interpret Wiring Diagrams: Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to understand and follow repair procedures.
6. Test and Troubleshoot: Use specialized equipment to test electrical systems and components, identify issues, and verify repairs.
7. Keep Accurate Records: Maintain detailed records of all repairs, replacements, and installations performed, including parts used.
8. Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment, both for yourself and others.
9. Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest advancements in automotive electrical technology and tools.

Qualifications:

1. Diploma in Automotive Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
2. At least three (3) CXC/ CSEC/ Ordinary Level Subjects.
3. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Auto Electrician or similar role.
4. Must have a valid Driver’s Permit

Skills:

1. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing automotive electrical systems.
2. Strong understanding of wiring diagrams and schematics.
3. Ability to effectively use diagnostic tools and equipment.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
5. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
6. Physical ability to perform the required tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
