Project Coordinator - Socio Economic Projects (EPOS)





Office Gems is facilitating the recruitment of a Project Coordinator – Socio Economic Projects (SEP) for the East Port of Spain Development Company Limited (EPOS).

The Project Coordinator – SEP reports to the Development Officer and will be responsible for planning and monitoring the execution of assigned socio-economic projects to leverage social capital and build socio-economic capacity to improve the quality of life and standard of living in East Port of Spain.

MAIN DUTIES

The main duties are to:

  1. Cultivate effective working relationships with company personnel, training facilitators, event space, and service suppliers.
  2. Support and participate in site visits, event planning meetings, and stakeholder forums.
  3. Participate in data collection, verification, and analysis to support needs identification, programme design, and pre- and post-implementation evaluations.
  4. Prepare the justification, scope, schedule, and resource requirements for assigned projects, under the guidance of the Officer.
  5. Assist the Officer in the evaluation and selection of training facilitators, venues, development resources.
  6. Participate in Contractor Orientations and project briefings. Keep contractors and suppliers apprised of changes to scopes of work or schedule, as appropriate, to keep projects on track.
  7. Oversee the conduct of programmes to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and corporate standards and resolve issues.
  8. Investigate and promptly notify the Officer and other relevant personnel of work delays, disruptions, site incidents or accidents, and remedial actions taken or recommended.
  9. Maintain a master schedule of programmes and initiatives. Track and report variances in a timely and accurate matter, to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  10. Prepare and submit routine and ad hoc progress and completion reports, as specified.
  11. Represent the Division/Team on projects and other company initiatives, as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
  2. Associate Professional Certification or higher in Project Management.
  3. Certification in Sustainable Development.
  4. Two to three (2 to 3) years’ relevant experience in Social Development, preferably working with distressed urban communities.


Knowledge & Skills

  1. Working knowledge of the principles, techniques, and contemporary practices related to socio-economic development, event management, project management, conflict management.
  2. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis.
  3. Knowledge of the use and application of MS Office Suite, MS Project to generate reports, presentations, complete analytics, and manage projects.
  4. Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for procurement, public health and safety, and environmental protection.
  5. Strong organization and time-management skills.
  6. Understanding of the East Port of Spain community and culture.
  7. Excellent aptitude for agile, critical thinking creative problem-solving, and analysis.
  8. Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Ability to make technical presentations.
  9. Ability to use emotional intelligence to self-manage and influence positive outcomes.
